There’s no better pastime than testing out the coolest new skincare/makeup/hair trends and snazzy innovations in beauty tech from the comfort of your own home. That said, there’s nothing more frustrating than spending upwards of £100 on a new at-home facial system or snazzy pair of hair straighteners, only to find out they don’t *actually* work.
Enter, Fashion Tries: the weekly Instagram series which sees Fashion editors do all of the time-consuming (and expensive) work for you.
Yep, we’ve been busy trying out all of the wacky and wonderful beauty crazes to take the internet (read: TikTok) by storm – from the Zuvi Halo (the hair dryer of dreams) to Il Makiage’s iconic foundation and the Slimyonik Air body styler. These are the products every influencer/Gen-Z beauty sleuth/beauty editor is talking about on the internet – but that you want to be sure about before parting with your money.
Thanks to Fashion Tries, you won’t need to waste your hard-earned pennies on testing these innovations yourself. We’re getting in their first, giving you the lowdown and making sure you invest in products that genuinely work. Race ya?

It promises to redefine your daily drying routine.

This week on Fashion Tries, Beauty Writer Shei Mamona recreated the makeup look seen on Megan Fox on the latest Fashion cover. Opening up in her most revealing interview in years, Megan Fox spoke to Fashion’s Emily Maddick about sexism, being a sex symbol – and passionate blood-drinking rituals with her fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly. All while donning the most epic makeup by Jenna Kristina using Pat McGrath.
“Can we talk about her makeup? So stunning,” one Fashion reader commented on TikTok. “Yes. We. Can.,” Shei responded. “I obviously spoke to her makeup artist to find out exactly what products she used. I’ll be honest… I did not have them. There was a lot of Tom Ford, a lot of Pat McGrath.”
Of course, you can shop them all down below – but for the purposes of a quick Thursday afternoon recreation, Shei used the existing contents of her makeup bag.

“I’ve already applied my base, so I’m just going to go in with some concealer,” Shei began. “We want glowy skin.”
As for the brows? “They need to be nice and thick and full. I’ve also got two palettes here – Huda Beauty – I’m going in with the purple and the greens. We are obviously different shades. So, I’m going to use shades that work for me.
“Let’s go with this dark purple for the outer eye, then I’m going to go in and make it more lilac-y on top. And then a pink. And now going in with the liner. Glowish bronzer to my cheekbones and very high blush.”
Would you give this makeup look a go? Have you already tried it? Let us know your thoughts over on Instagram @glamouruk.
